History, Vision and Mission

HISTORY

St Vincent's opened its doors to the first pupils in 1970. In 2010 we celebrated 40 years of educating children from Aranda and the surrounding suburbs. The school is situated on Bindel St, Aranda, next door to the Church and Parish Centre. Students who have attended our school, primarily come from the suburbs of Aranda, Belconnen, Bruce, Cook, Macquarie and Emu Ridge. However, many of the students also live in suburbs located elsewhere in the ACT

Who was St Vincent de Paul?

St Vincent de Paul was born around 1580 in the village of Pouy in Gascony, France. His predominant virtue was charity and this was extended to all classes of persons. St Vincent de Paul is known as the Apostle of Charity, the Patron saint of charitable organisations. His feast day is celebrated on the 27th of September.
